OCL has been allocated with this coal block by the Government of India in Mejia block of Bankura to fulfill the requirement of coal in their own plant. 100 trucks loaded with coal is being transported illegally daily from this coal block in local market illegally. As per the sources report only 10 trucks goes to this plant of OCL for which the coal block is alloted. Trucks with proper documents are loaded in day light from the coal block while the coal loaded illegally for sell in local market are loaded during night and they are overloaded. Illegal loading of truck from the coal block is more then 100 in numbers. Raj Kishor Yadav, a transporter resident of Bengal Ambuja road, City Centre, Durgapur is providing all trucks for transporting the coal illegally from this coal block. This illegal business is continuing for last 8 months from this private coal patch. This is only possible with the involvemnet of local politicians and Bankura district police. Even the officials of Eastern Coalfield limited a subsidiary company of Coal India and Central Industrial Security Forces who is responsible for the safety of government property are involved in this illegal activities. They are favoured with a handsome amount of money in exchange of tons of coal smuggled from this coal block.
